Leach Pads are a very popular and cost-effective method of extracting gold and a variety of other precious minerals from ore. Generally, a solution is sprayed on crushed mineral bearing ore to extract the desired precious mineral. The function of the Geomembrane, High Density Polyethylene (HI-DRILINE®) or Linear Low Density Polyethylene (DRILINE®) is to intercept the pregnant solution and prevent the solution from seeping into the earth and contaminating the soil/aquifers.
